CBD and Cannabis
When we think of cannabis, we think first of smoking weed and the joy that goes with it.
THC is responsible for the “high” feeling and is mostly linked to recreational marijuana. Cannabis does have more than one component though. It also has CBD that means Cannabidiol and it has its own unique characteristics. CBD does not have the psychoactive properties that THC has and is therefore very good for medicinal use. It is found to not bond with the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors in the human body like THC does.

CBD is a key ingredient in Marijuana
The cannabis plant has more than 60 components and CBD belongs to the molecule called Cannabinoid. THC and CBD are normally found in the highest concentration and therefor the most studied. THC levels are higher in recreational marijuana but growing strains with higher CBD levels are getting more popular because of the healing effect it has.
Does CBD make you “high”?
You can smoke as much marijuana you want where the CBD levels are high, but you won’t get high yourself. CBD does not act on the same pathways as THC and therefor won’t make you high. It won’t alter psycho-motoric functions and is safe even in high doses.
The medical benefits of CBDs
CBDs and THC work on different pathways, but they do have many coinciding medical benefits.
CBDs has anti-convulsion and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also antipsychotic and acts as an anti-oxidant. It combats depression and fights against cancerous cells.
The reference here is to highlight the properties CBD has. There is a very long list of conditions treatable by CBD products and even more studies to be done to understand the vast characteristics and tremendous benefits of CBDs.
CBD is perfect for anxiety attacks
Some people are known to get anxiety or paranoia attacks when smoking marijuana with high THC levels. CBD has the opposite effect. It actually counteracts anxiety.
Many would like to know if there are any side effects to using CBD products. In a certain way you could rather say it has side “benefits “as you might use CBD products to treat one condition but at the same time it would improve other conditions you might not have been aware of.
What do I need to know when I want to treat a condition I have?
The ratio between CBD and THC is very important in treating certain conditions.
Some might require higher CBD levels and other might want the ratio to be more equal.
Whenever you want treatment for a specific condition, it is advisable to find enough information by either speaking to an informed doctor or person. Do also research online and gather as much information possible to use the correct oil or product. It is very clear that the cannabis plant in a whole has lots to offer and even if you don’t have a serious condition, using CBD products of medical marijuana can only benefit your overall health situation.
